1 Kings 17:4-6

“You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there." So he did what the Lord had told him...The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.”

On the third Monday of Advent, we remember Elijah.
The ornament for today should represent Elijah (a stone altar or a raven)

During a time of drought and famine, God commanded the prophet Elijah to go to a specific location where he would be provided for. Instead of sending humans to help Elijah, God miraculously used ravens to bring him food. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and evening, ensuring his sustenance during the difficult times.

From this story, we can learn several lessons. Firstly, it teaches us about God's faithfulness and provision. Even in the midst of challenging circumstances, God can provide for His people in unexpected ways. Secondly, it highlights the importance of obedience. Elijah followed God's command to go to the designated place, and as a result, he experienced God's miraculous provision.

Additionally, the story reminds us of the significance of God's creation. God used an unlikely creature like a raven to carry out His plan, emphasizing that He is in control of all things and can use any means to accomplish His purposes.

Overall, the story of Elijah and the ravens encourages us to trust in God's provision, obey His commands, and recognize His sovereignty over all aspects of our lives.
