1 Kings 4:29-30

“And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore, so that Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.”

Now we are in the third week of Advent, Gaudete Sunday. After this video, check out our Gaudete Sunday video to learn more! On the third Sunday of Advent, we remember King Solomon.
The ornament for today should represent Solomon (a crown or a temple).

Solomon was the son of David and Bathsheba, and he became king after his father's death. He was known for his wisdom, wealth, and building projects, including the construction of the first temple in Jerusalem. The story also highlights his flaws, including his many wives and turning away from God in his later years.

One of the key lessons we can learn from the story of King Solomon is the importance of wisdom and discernment. Solomon was known for his wise decisions and ability to judge fairly, which earned him respect and admiration from his people. Another lesson is the danger of pride and turning away from God. Despite his many accomplishments, Solomon's downfall was ultimately caused by his unfaithfulness and disobedience to God's commands.

Overall, the story of King Solomon serves as a reminder that even the most successful and powerful leaders are not immune to mistakes and shortcomings, and that true wisdom comes from a humble and faithful heart.
